Size – Your restaurant’s size plays a big role in choosing. Do you need a network of POS terminals in your restaurant connecting the cashier, the order-takers, and the chefs? Or perhaps you only need one POS system which only serves the cashier? However big or small your restaurant may be, you’re sure to find some software which fits you the best.

Memory – How big is your menu offering? Do you need to put kitchen-modifiers, or perhaps additional instructions for food? You should be able to put your whole menu and everything else that can be ordered right inside your POS terminal. The more you can customize it, the better it will be to serve you and your clients.

Receipts or Order Slips – Does your POS system need to print receipts? Or you only need to send the information to one cashier and that is in charge for all financial-related works in your restaurant? File Export – Good restaurant POS software should be able to generate reports and export them in common file types so you can easily view or copy them in your computer.

User-friendliness – You don’t want your POS machine to be so hard for your employees. Get something that is easy so it’s also easy to teach to your employees.
